NCAL is a group for stringed instrument builders who live in Northern California and want to meet to network and support each other. In person meetings are held quarterly in different locations in Northern California. We also have an optional Google group for announcements from members.
The majority of members build steel string acoustic guitars, but many NCAL members build other instruments including electric guitars, classical guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, banjos, and violins, or focus primarily on repairs.
NCAL includes both professional and amateur luthiers, along with people who are starting or just thinking about starting. Everyone is welcome!
